What Is Kikashi?
We are a consultancy business that works with law firms, in house legal teams and product vendors to put in place legal technology solutions that make a real difference.
Our deep understanding of the realities of legal practice and legal technology allows us to work with our clients effectively and make sure that any solution is properly selected and implemented in a way that sets them up for future success.
We are highly receptive to our clients’ specific needs and do not apply a cookie-cutter approach to our engagements. We are product agnostic and have worked across a wide variety of practice areas and industries across the globe.
So, what about the name?
Kikashi is a term used in “Go” which is a highly complex strategic game, similar to draughts or checkers, originating in China around 2,500 years ago. The game has often been used as a test of strength for machine learning platforms and, in 2017, AlphaGo became the first computer programme to beat a human opponent.
Kikashi literally translates as “enlivenment” and is used to describe a move that:
- Considers the full landscape of the game
- Has a positive future effect or gain
- Ultimately enables more efficient and successful play.
We take these principles and apply them to every part of what we do.
